Our Projects

Who we are: We are builder/owners who are actively involved in every aspect of caring for our places, from all aspect of management and leasing to mowing the lawns and weeding the flowers gardens. With just 9 buildings all near Ithaca, we make a point of staying on top of things, and we are easily accessible if you ever have a question.

ABOVE: Shawn and Charlie use their Turner bandmill to saw boards destined for building the Magnum Opus (1692 Ellis Hollow Raod)

Building the Ellis Hollow apartments has been a family affair.  Ann designed the buildings, selecting (and fetching to the jobsite) all the finish materials, paints and appliances, and lending a hand wherever help was needed, from pouring concrete, doing much of the finish painting, and making runs to the dump with trash.

Charlie was brains and brawn behind the projects, overseeing the construction, figuring construction supplies, and doing the actual building as well. Our son Shawn worked full time along with us, and son Ben pitched in during the summers and on winter break from college.

Lot clearing in Ellis Hollow entailed a great deal of chainsaw work!  We ended up with large piles of black locust, some of which we  milled  into flooring, and the rest was sold for fence posts and rails.  You can see how beautiful "fence post wood" is when made into furniture grade stairs, on the Magnum Opus page of this website.
